Stuti Shrimali - Me And My Suitcase

Stuti Shrimali is a free spirited girl with rebellious streak, always ready to travel, a foodie and amateur photographer. Her dream is to live among the mountains. We caught up with Stuti to get to know her a little better, about her travel experiences & her choices in traveling responsibly.

Can you tell us when and how did the travel bug bite you?

Although I am a Civil Engineer by profession, travel runs in my DNA! It’s very difficult to say when the travel bug bit me coz I guess travel bug has mutated in my genes when I wasn’t even born.

And how do you fund your travel ?(savings/work whilst traveling/other)

I don’t believe in leave the job to travel mantra. I have a full time job and I travel when I get the chance to. My travels are mostly self funded.

How long have you been documenting your travel stories ?

Had signed up for Blogspot when I was in college but had no idea back then what to do with it! Until a couple of years back when my sister suggested that I start documenting my travels. I write at Me And My Suitcase.

Can you share with us, that one travel memory that you cherish till date ?

There are many of them but it was my college trip in 2006 to North India which not only gave me a chance to explore beautiful places like Shimla, Manali but gave me many new friends and a sense of independent travelling too!

    Your preferred travel companions?

Family & Friends.

Do you have a bucket list? If so what is the first item?

The list is too long and I am an impartial person. 😉
So anything on my list anytime, as far as they are happening I am a happy person.

Your views & experiences (if any) on safety while travelling on your own.

I travel on my own very less (I love to have company) but whenever I do, it is for work. Be alert, be aware and keep your people informed about your whereabouts.

We all know that travel teaches us a great deal of things about life. Can you share with us what has travel taught you ?

Travel not only gives you the chance to take chances but also teaches you to be a balanced and happy person.

Is there anything you do on your travels or in your every day life to try to minimize your impact on the environment?

I am strictly against littering and wasting food.

Please share with us, your message to aspiring women travelers?

Read, Research and Be Confident wherever you go!
