Note about Smoking & Alcohol:

Everyone joining is an adult and we realise that we cannot dictate the behaviour on how you should enjoy the trip. Each destination offers a locally brewed wine or beer and we would love for you to try them. All we ask is to drink responsibly. Alcohol on higher altitude can make you extremely dehydrated. And even smaller quantities can cause a hangover.

Hangover delays are going to cost a lot, and will not be tolerated at all. So please do not test your limits and enjoy in moderation. Also, do respect your roommate’s comfort levels with the alcohol smell and avoid drinking in the room if she is not comfortable.

If you smoke, please do so outside the room, even if the rooms have ashtray. Smoking at high altitude is not recommended.

Note > Prepare > Accept > Embrace:

  • Higher altitudes require a certain level of fitness. We are not strictly trekking anywhere but even climbing up the stairs or a little steep walk to the monasteries or any sightseeing areas will feel like treks, given the altitude (around 6500 to 15000 ft altitudes). Langza is at 14500 ft. If you can walk for 2 kilometres regularly, you should be okay.
  • You will have to submit a consent form and consult your physician for a go ahead.
  • We will share with you the do’s and don’ts of travelling to high altitude places and will also suggest some medication. Please consult your physician regarding the same.
  • The first day is for acclimatisation. We expect all travellers to follow the guidelines.
  • Expect traffic jams! (especially enroute Rohtang Pass)
  • Power is scarce in the region. Most stays will have back ups but do not expect generators to run water heaters in absence of power. Hot water buckets will be provided to you in case there is no power
  • Please note that we stay in boutique and locally run hotels and they will have their unique rooms. Please do not compare your rooms with fellow travellers. They will all be of the same comfort level but will have different aesthetics and sizes.
  • This is a ROAD TRIP, to one of the most treacherous routes in the country, no less. The rewards are unbelievable but the journey will prove tiring. There are no restaurants or rest rooms enroute. The villages on the way will have a population of 30 to 50 people. Please reconsider if you have back or knee issues. Our longest stretch will be on Day 7 when we are travelling from Kaza to Manali (10 hours).
  • We start our days as early as possible, especially on the days of long travel.
  • We promise you a relaxed day after a day of long travel.
  • Please pack a Hot-Water Bag as a precaution for warming the bed (example)
  • Our grop size is of maximum 10 (for long trips) and 18 (for short trips). We pride ourselves in not having a “minimum number” clause. This means, the trip will run even if we have just one person on board. This also means that we do not garuntee a minimum number of people to you.
