  • You may get rainfall on your way to Spiti as it is a monsoon month.

*Please note that now a days, climate/ weather is dependent on many factors and unpredictable hence above information might be subject to change during your actual travel days

Stay

We will be staying in beautiful homestays with locals. Please do come with the view of respecting the sanctity of a home and appreciating the warmth and hospitality. The stays in Spiti are basic, clean and safe but will not have fancy facilities. Running hot water, enough blankets are available.

Foooood!

  • Simple Indian food such as rotis/dal, rice etc. Toast/Omelettes will be available.
  • If you have special dietary requests, please let us know beforehand.
  • It would also be a good idea to carry some meal packets with you if you have special requirements.

Note about smoking & alchohol

  • Everyone joining is an adult and we realise that we cannot dictate the behaviour on how you should enjoy the trip. Each destination offers a locally brewed wine or beer and we would love for you to try them. All we ask is to drink responsibly. Alcohol on higher altitude helps in warming you up, but at the same time, can make you extremely dehydrated. And even smaller quantities can cause a hangover.
  • Hangover delays are going to cost a lot, and will not be tolerated at all. So please do not test your limits and enjoy in moderation. Also, do respect your roommate’s comfort levels with the alcohol smell and avoid drinking in the room if she is not comfortable.
  • If you smoke, please do so outside the room, even if the rooms have ashtray. Smoking on high altitude is not recommended.

Note > Prepare > Accept > Embrace:

  • Higher altitudes require certain level of fitness. We are not strictly trekking anywhere but the even climbing up the stairs to the monastery will feel like treks, given the altitude (around 6500 to 15000 ft altitudes). Langza is at 14500 ft. If you can brisk walk for 2 kilometres regularly, you should be okay.  If walking at steep places is an issue for you, please reconsider.
  • We will share with you the do’s and don’ts of travelling to high altitude places and will also suggest some medication. Please consult your physician regarding the same.
  • The first day is for acclimatisation. We expect all travellers to follow the guidelines.
  • Expect traffic jams! (especially enroute Rohtang Pass)
  • In line with the ideology of F5 Escapes, we will be staying in small guest houses and homestays during our trip. Please come with an open mind about sharing someone’s home and maintain the sanctity.
  • This is a ROAD TRIP, to one of the most treacherous routes in the country, no less. The rewards are unbelievable but the journey will prove tiring. On Day 2, we are undertaking a journey from Maanali to Kaza that will be around 10 hours (less than 200 kms). There is no stay facility enroute, unless we take a detour. The villages on the way will have population of 30 to 50 people. Please reconsider if you have back issues. No other day will have such long travel, though.
  • We start our days as early as possible, especially on the days of long travel.
  • We promise you a relaxed day after a day of long travel.
