This is not a typical beach and party trip. We are trying to explore a very different aspect of Goa in unusual weather. Rain will drive us indoors and there will be some segments where we will be just relaxing at the beautiful places. We may have to juggle some plans around depending on the weather. Please come with an open mind. If Goa still means beach, beer and party to you, we may not be a right fit.

Beverages (other than the ones included in the set menu) are to be ordered at your own expense – alcoholic or non alcoholic. On Day 1, beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic) are included during the food walk in the evening.

We will try to have a mix of local thalis, continental fare and street food. There will be seafood in a couple of dinners but not all. Meals where sea food (prawns, lobsters, crabs etc.) is not a part, you can order those dishes at your expense. Fish and meat will be available as non-vegetarian options in most meals.

Fun Fact
FUN FACT!
You'll find houses in vibrant yellows, blues and reds in the Latin Quarters of Fontainhas. Can you guess why? It's because, during Portuguese rule, it was legally required for all houses to be whitewashed annually. To distinguish the houses, the residents chose bright colours, a tradition that's still being followed.

We will be in the middle of monsoon and you should be prepared to get wet. Carry enough change of clothes and socks, as well as a raincoat and an umbrella.

Our stay today (in Sancordem) is next to a wildlife sanctuary. Being monsoon, insects are common. You are safe, but please do not be horrified if a grasshopper or cicada pays a visit. We will have salt sachets for the leeches. Please don’t worry about them. Leeches are a part of the monsoon in Goa and traditionally a medical therapy.

There is quite a bit of walking involved in this Goa tour package, but apart from the simple trail walking in the forest, most are leisurely walks.

I recently took a trip to Goa with F5 Escapes. The itinerary was very well curated and covered several offbeat places in Goa as well. I specially enjoyed the waterfall hike in Tambdi Surla, the nature walk at night in Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary as well as the heritage walks around old Goa and Fountainhas.

Any special note on the monsoon Goa tour?

This is not a typical beach and party trip. We are trying to explore a very different aspect of Goa in unusual weather. Rain will drive us indoors and there will be some segments where we will be just relaxing at the beautiful places. We may have to juggle some plans around depending on the weather. Please come with an open mind. If Goa still means beach, beer and party to you, we may not be a right fit.

7
As a solo-female traveller, can I join the Monsoon Goa group tour?

Absolutely! We design our women only group tours to make it convenient, fun, and safe for women travellers. While solo-female travels give you the autonomy to pace your trip, travelling with a women travel group like ours, is hassle-free and without the mental load of planning and organising. You travel with a group of like-minded women, make new friends, and share experiences for a lifetime. Join our Goa women only trip to experience the joy of travelling with your tribe.

8
What are the company policies on smoking/drinking?

Note on Smoking and Alcohol policy: Everyone joining is an adult and we realise that we cannot dictate the behaviour on how you should enjoy the trip. All we ask is to drink responsibly. Hangover delays are going to cost a lot, and will not be tolerated at all. So please do not test your limits and enjoy in moderation. Also, do respect your roommate’s comfort levels with the alcohol smell and avoid drinking in the room if she is not comfortable. If you smoke, please do so outside the room, even if the rooms have ashtray.

9
How does F5 Escapes promote responsible and sustainable tourism?

When we travel, we visit somebody’s home, be it a city, village or a place of stay. We treat them with utmost respect. We encourage all our guests to leave no trace, only footprints. We recommend carrying one's own steel water bottles. Most places of stay we partner with provide clean drinking water and water is available for refill. Small shift, big impact. We are mindful about our group not littering the destination. We try choosing vendors who make a conscious effort to employ locals, thereby enabling us to give back to the local economy. We encourage local handicrafts and on several trips we visit local artisans. We try to reduce overcrowding by travelling in small groups of maximum 12 people. We support women-led enterprises and seek them out on our travels. We work with local organisations across India involved in conservation, culture preservation and employment generation.
