Our Kolkata Durga Puja special group trip is to ex-Kolkata. It will be very crowded during this time of the year and will also involve a fair bit of walking in exploring the city and visiting pandals.

Welcome to the City of Joy, Kolkata! Post-lunch, visit Kolkata's most iconic heritage landmark at Victoria Memorial. Delve into history at the Indian Museum. Wrap up your evening by exploring the bustling Gariahat market, a perfect introduction to the local energy and traditional weaves.

We have included a wonderful variety of food options, including an authentic flavor of traditional Bengali cuisine, a special heritage house meal, and curated experiences around local food. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options will be readily available.

A fair bit of walking will be involved in exploring Kolkata. Please ensure you are carrying comfortable walking footwear. It will be humid and the crowds will make it warmer still. Please wear comfortable clothes.

Did you know? The majestic Victoria Memorial is built using the exact same white Makrana marble as the Taj Mahal! And, if you look closely at the very top of the structure, the five-ton bronze 'Angel of Victory' actually rotates on its axis whenever the wind blows hard enough!

Day 2 : Flower Market, Kumartuli, Bonedi Baris & Pandal Hopping.

Walk: 3-4 hrs

Start the morning at the bustling Mullick Ghat flower market. Take the adventure further to explore the narrow lanes of Kolkata’s potters’ colony, Kumartuli, where you can watch sculptors breathe life into various terracotta idols. Although low on activity now, the preparations for Kali Puja will already be underway. Explore the timeless Bonedi Baris (the city's historic aristocratic houses) to witness their traditional family celebrations, followed by a lunch hosted at one of these homes. End the day immersing yourself in the festivities visiting some of the most iconic Puja pandals of the city.

Kolkata can be extremely chaotic and crowded during Durga Puja which will require you to coordinate with your tour lead and stay together at all times specially in the market areas. You will also need to cross areas/lanes which are not very clean. It will be very crowded in the pandals. Do not carry valuables during your visit to pandals. There will be a lot of walking, with several stops. More standing than walking.

Day 3 : Sindoor Khela and Visarjan.

Celebrate Vijaydashami. Hop to the beautiful Puja pandals and participate in Sindoor Khela. Feel that sisterhood and energy. In the evening, it is time to bid farewell to the Goddess, praying for her return next year and drawing strength from her. Witness the visarjan in the Ganga river from a cruise. Overnight at Kolkata.

While we try to ensure that during our Kolkata Durga Puja group tour everything works by the clock, West Bengal is not known for service promptness. Please be prepared to work around delays and co-operate to ensure the trip goes smoothly.

Day 4 : Dakshineshwar Kali. Departure.

After an early breakfast, check out. Visit the iconic Dakshineshwar Kali temple and seek the blessings as you depart for your home. Our Kolkata all women trip ends with a drop at the airport by 1:30 PM.

We want to enable you to travel wallet free. That’s why, when you travel with us, we take care of most of your travelling expenses. Our Kolkata Durga Puja group tour package includes:

All meals, starting with lunch on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 4
Transport in an AC vehicle as per the itinerary
Accommodation on a twin sharing basis for 3 nights
All entry charges including entry to heritage houses and pandals

Exclusions

Some expenses are excluded (especially those of personal preferences) and will have to be taken care of by the individual. Exclusions include:

Shopping
Food and snacks other than inclusions
Packaged water
Camera charges
Tips and personal expenses – tips, donations, medication etc.
Flights/Train to Kolkata and back, from your city of residence.
Any cost arising due to natural calamities, personal flight delays and aspects beyond our control. We will definitely facilitate an alternative and handle the contingency, the cost being yours.

25% of the trip cost if cancelled 89 – 60 days in advance.
50% of the trip cost if it is cancelled 59 to 16 days in advance.
Last 15 days – no show – the entire amount will be forfeited.
If you use our services to book flights, cancellation charges will apply.

What kind of weather can I expect during the Durga Puja October 2026 trip?

Weather in Kolkata during October will be moderate, ranging typically between 23 to 33 degrees Celsius. However, it will be quite humid. Please wear comfortable clothes. *Please note that nowadays, climate/ weather is dependent on many factors and unpredictable hence the above information might be subject to change during your actual travel days.

Will there be a lot of crowd at the pandals?

Kolkata can be extremely chaotic and crowded during Durga Puja which will require you to coordinate with your tour lead and stay together at all times specially in the market areas and pandals. At the cost of repeating ourselves, it will be very crowded in the pandals. Please expect lots of people. We have conducted Kolkata Durga Puja tours before and our lead will be there to coordinate but it’s necessary that everyone cooperates. Also, please do not carry valuables during your visit to pandals.

What are the company policies on smoking/drinking?

Note on Smoking and Alcohol policy: Everyone joining is an adult and we realize that we cannot dictate personal behavior. All we ask is to drink responsibly. Hangover delays are going to cost a lot and will not be tolerated, as they affect the group timeline. Please enjoy in moderation. Do respect your roommate's comfort levels with alcohol smells and avoid drinking inside the room if she is not comfortable. If you smoke, please do so outside the room premises entirely.

Mom, daughter & Durga Puja in Kolkata

Me and my daughter had a 6 day trip to Calcutta fully planned and executed by F5 Escapes. The first two days travel plan was custom made for us to Shantiniketan and Bishnupur. A vehicle with a very good driver, good hotels and experienced local guides made our trip safe and enjoyable. The next four days were in Calcutta with a group of ladies and we thoroughly enjoyed the Durga Puja visiting all types of gatherings and pandals.
