A day tour to Lepakshi is going to take us back in time to the ancient Indian mythological temples. Fascinating stories around the temples, strange facts, impressive attention to detail on all the sculptures, visit to a pillar which doesn’t rest fully on the ground, and India’s biggest monolithic Nandi among others. Our LePakshi group trip is to Ex-Bangalore, with multiple pick-up and drop-off points. Pickups will start by 6:30 AM and we will try to complete all drop-offs by 8 PM. If you are joining from a different city you can arrive on 28 November evening and return after 10 PM on 29 November.

Day 1: Explore LePakshi. Bhoganandeeshwara temple.

Local attractions

Start from Bangalore early at around 6.30 AM. A sumptuous breakfast awaits. Reach Lepakshi at 10 AM. Spend the rest of the morning visiting temples with sculptures, and architecture and explore the history of these temples. After lunch, start back around 3 PM, visit the Bhoganandeeshwara temple on the way, and spend some time around the 1000-year-old architectural marvel. Begin the return journey after tea.

This is a 1-day road trip to ex-Bangalore. We will have multiple pick-up and drop-off points usually along the ORR. We will start pick-ups by 6:30 AM and try to return to Bangalore and complete all drop-offs along the same route by 8 PM.

About Lepakshi: Lepakshi, a small village in Mandal in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh is located 15 km east of Hindupur. Lepakshi is culturally & archaeologically significant as it is the location of shrines dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu & Veerabhadra.

Legends have stories behind the name “Lepakshi”;. One such story dates Lepakshi town back to the days of Ramayana. To help the wounded bird Jatayu, Lord Rama utters the word “le pakshi”; ( Rise Bird in Telugu) and hence the name.

Some expenses are excluded (especially those of personal preferences) and will have to be taken care of by the individual. Exclusions include:

Any cost arising due to natural calamities, personal flight delays and aspects beyond our control. We will definitely facilitate an alternative and handle the contingency, the cost being yours.

Up to 10 days prior to the event date. 25% of the total amount will be charged.

10 days – 2 days prior to the event date 50% of the total amount will be charged.

Less than 2 days prior to the event date / no-show, 100% of the total amount will be charged.

All our trips are well-researched, including identifying access to medical facilities. In case of a medical emergency, F5 will assist the traveller in getting medical attention.

F5 reserves the right to cancel the trip under certain conditions; in such a case, the amount will be refunded in full.

FAQs

What type of meals/food will be available?

Simple, South India veg food will be available.

How will pick-ups and drop offs be arranged for the LePakshi all women group tour?

This is a day trip from Bangalore by road. We will start by 6:30 AM and have multiple pick-up points usually along the ORR. Return to Bangalore will be by 8 PM and drop offs will be along the same route. We can suggest potential pick up points but cannot promise them. The final pick up points will be based on the feasible route close to the date of travel and the location of all the travellers in the group. We will do our best to communicate and plan comfortable pickups for all the travellers.

What if I am joining from a different city?

If you are joining the LePakshi day trip from a different city, please reach Bangalore the previous evening, and book your return tickets after 10 PM on 29 Nov or the next day. If you need help with transport and stay arrangements, please reach out to us.

Can mom and kids travel in this trip?

This is a relaxing and light-activity level day trip. In the past we’ve had mom and kids travel on our trips. However, we request all to go through the itinerary carefully and reach out to us with questions (especially if you are travelling with children below 5 years or have special requirements).

As a solo-female traveller, can I join the LePakshi tour?

Absolutely! We design our group tours to make it convenient, fun, and safe for women travellers. Group travelling is hassle-free and without the mental load of planning and organising. Think of it like a solo group trip from Bangalore, where you travel with a group of like-minded women, make new friends, and share experiences for a lifetime. What are the company policies on smoking/drinking?

This trip is non-smoking and non-alcoholic.
