Day 1: Talakadu temples. Shivanasamudra waterfalls.

Drive: 7-9 hrs

Walk: 2-3 hrs

Coracle ride

Start from Bangalore by 6.30 AM. Stop over for breakfast. Reach Talakadu by 10:30 AM. Explore the temples and spend some time at Talakadu Beach enjoying a coracle ride. After exploring the temple it’s time to relax and enjoy your lunch. Post lunch, visit the Barachukki waterfalls and then start your journey back to Bangalore. We will try to be back by 8 PM. Head home refreshed!

About Talakad/Talakadu: Historic in its preface, magnificent in its sculptures and intriguing in its description, Talakad remains one of the most treasured towns in Karnataka. The town is known for its sand dunes, sand-covered temples and the winding river Kaveri.

About Shivanasamudra: Creating a history for the state, Asia’s first hydroelectric power stations were set up here in Karnataka. This island town has twin waterfalls called Gaganachukki and Barachukki.

This is an ex-Bangalore road trip. We will have multiple pick-up and drop off points usually along the ORR (no airport/railway station pick-ups). Drop offs will be along the same route as the pick-ups.

Lunch will be a local affair. Veg meal only, with rice/roti, vegetable curry, desserts, and more. Also, since this is monsoon season, Coracle ride is subject to availability based on water levels.

We want to enable you to travel wallet free. That’s why, when you travel with us, we take care of most of your travelling expenses. Our Talakad & Shivanasamudra ex-Bangalore day trip includes:

Transport in Tempo traveller A/C from Bangalore to the destination and back. Pick up and drop off from multiple points in the city.

Exclusions

Some expenses are excluded (especially those of personal preferences) and will have to be taken care of by the individual. Exclusions include:

Any cost arising due to natural calamities, personal flight delays and aspects beyond our control. We will definitely facilitate an alternative and handle the contingency, the cost being yours.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATION

Upto 10 days prior to the event date, 25% of the total amount will be charged.

10 days – 2 days prior to the event date 50% of the total amount will be charged.

Less than 2 days prior to the event date / no-show, 100% of the total amount will be charged.

All our trips are well-researched, including identifying access to medical facilities. In case of a medical emergency, F5 will assist the traveler in getting medical attention.

The trip is NON-SMOKING and NON-ALCOHOLIC.

F5 reserves the right to cancel the trip under certain conditions – in such a case, the amount will be refunded in full.

FAQs

What type of meals/food will be provided?

Breakfast will be a local South Indian meal, while lunch will be simple veg-meal with phulkas/roti, rice, vegetables, curd, etc. Evening tea/coffee will be had locally.

How will pick-ups and drop offs be arranged for the Talakad & Shivanasamudra group tour?

This is a day trip from Bangalore by road. We will start by 6:30 AM and have multiple pick-up points usually along the ORR. Return to Bangalore will be by 8 PM and drop offs will be along the same route. We can suggest potential pick up points but cannot promise them. The final pick up points will be based on the feasible route close to the date of travel and the location of all the travellers in the group. We will do our best to communicate and plan comfortable pickups for all the travellers.

What if I am joining from a different city?

If you are joining the Talakad day trip from a different city, please reach Bangalore on 25 July (previous evening) or by 5 AM on 26 July, and book your return tickets after 10:30 PM on 26 July or the next day. If you need help with transport and stay arrangements, please reach out to us.

Who can join the Talakad group tour?

Our Talakad & Shivanasamudra group trip is a 1-day road trip, suitable for solo-female travellers, mom and kids.

What are the company policies on smoking/drinking?

Note on Smoking and Alcohol policy: The trip is NON-SMOKING and NON-ALCOHOLIC.
