Assam is a land of nature’s bounty. Join us as we visit this land known for its wildlife, tea and silk. Visit the national park with the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinos. Explore the largest river island in the world – Majuli. Majuli is the only place in Assam where the Raas Leela of Lord Krishna is celebrated through the plays enacted by the devotees. Everyone joining is an adult and we cannot dictate how you should enjoy the trip. All we ask is to drink responsibly. Hangover delays are going to cost delays, and will not be tolerated at all. If you smoke, please do so outside the room, even if the rooms have ashtray.
Note > Prepare > Accept > Embrace
- Culture in Assam is laid back. The food is prepared fresh and the order needs to be placed at least an hour in advance, especially for group travel. Please cooperate with your trip lead.
- Even though it is winter, there may be mosquitoes around the Brahmaputra. Please come prepared with mosquito repellent.
- Raas is not just a tourist attraction, it is a religious festival of the region. Pilgrims from all across Assam visit to attend the drama performances by the monks. Expect crowds like you would at any major festival in India.
- The dramas at Raas take place between 8PM and 4AM. This is so that the locals can attend it after their daily chores and responsibilities. We do not have to attend it till the end and can leave after a few hours.
