In this trip to South Kerala, we wish to show you all that is authentic about the region and the locals. From experiencing the gorgeous sunset at Kanyakumari, to sitting at the quieter beaches of Varkala and staring at the ocean, to spending a day at a private island in the backwaters, we will try and make your South Kerala experience, a unique and memorable one.

Day 1 - 27 Sep 2025
Arrive in Trivandrum. Start your drive towards Varkala. Explore Varkala, the only place in southern Kerala where cliffs are found adjacent to the Arabian Sea. As time permits, visit Anjengo Fort. Overnight at Varkala.
Day 2 - 28 Sep 2025
After breakfast, leave to visit Jatayu Earth Center which holds the distinction of having the world’s largest bird sculpture. Enjoy the magnificent views and know the story behind it. It is believed that the battered, wingless Jatayu fell on top of a hillock in Chadayamangalam, where the sculpture stands now. Later drive towards Munroe Island and settle down on a private island in the backwaters. You can take part in kayaking, fishing, swimming in the lake, boat trip up and down to the island, canoeing through the narrow canals to see fish farming , a village walk and indulge yourself in some good food. Overnight.
Day 3 - 29 Sep 2025
After breakfast, drive to Kanyakumari. Enjoy a ferry ride on the ocean to Vivekananda rock memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue. Kanyakumari temple (translates to ‘Virgin Goddess’) temple, Legend has it that the diamond nose stud of Kanyakumari Bhagavathi deity is so shiny that it got mistaken for a lighthouse once! Overnight at Kanyakumari.
Day 4 - 30 Sep 2025
Wake up to a glorious sunrise at the tip of India. After breakfast drive to Trivandrum. Later in the evening visit Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Overnight at Trivandrum.
Day 5 - 01 Oct 2025
After breakfast, get dropped at the airport for your flight back. Tour ends.

Exclusions
- Flight/bus/train tickets to Trivandrum from your city of residence and back.
- Tips, Shopping, Camera charges, Any Personal Expenses.
- Packaged water bottles
- Food other than inclusions.
- Anything not included in inclusions.
- Any cost arising due to natural calamities, personal flight delays and aspects beyond our control. We will definitely facilitate an alternative and handle the contingency, the cost being yours.
- 5% GST
Terms & Conditions
- 15% of the trip cost if canceled 90 days or more in advance.
- 25% of the trip cost if canceled 89 – 60 days in advance.
- 50% of the trip cost if it is canceled 59 to 16 days in advance.
- Last 15 days – no show – the entire amount will be forfeited.
- If you use our services to book flights, cancellation charges will apply.

- All our trips are well-researched, including identifying access to medical facilities. In case of a medical emergency, F5 will assist the traveler in getting medical attention.
- F5 Escapes is in no way responsible for any untoward incident happening due to the ignorance/negligence of the guests, natural/man-made calamities, accidents or any other events that are out of human control during the trip.
- F5 reserves the right to cancel the trip under certain conditions – in such a case, the amount will be refunded in full.
Arrival/Departure timings
This trip is to Ex-Trivandrum. Joining us from a different city?
Arrive no later than 10 AM on Day 1 and plan your return anytime after 9 AM on Day 5.
Weather
September end will be the tail end of monsoon in Kerala. Expect low humidity with temperatures ranging between 24 to 32 degrees C.

- Varkala – Sea facing, beautiful resort on the cliff edge.
- Munroe Island – A private Island located on the backwaters of Ashtamudi Lake and the Kallada River.
- Kanyakumari – Sea facing rooms in a well-appointed hotel.\
- Trivandrum – Well reviewed homestay in the city area close to the temple.
We do not share the names of the properties on the website for privacy reasons. We will be happy to share them on email with you.

We will arrange for authentic Kerala food, which will include vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
If you have any specific meal preferences / dietary requirements, please let us know beforehand.
Note about Smoking and Alcohol
Everyone joining is an adult and we realise that we cannot dictate the behaviour on how you should enjoy the trip. All we ask is to drink responsibly. Hangover delays are going to cost a lot, and will not be tolerated at all. So please do not test your limits and enjoy in moderation. Also, do respect your roommate’s comfort levels with the alcohol smell and avoid drinking in the room if she is not comfortable.
If you smoke, please do so outside the room, even if the rooms have ashtray.

- This trip has both culture and nature appreciation at the heart of it. As much as we explore temples, palaces and museums, we will enjoy the backwaters and beaches too.
- Expect quite a bit of walking.
- Kanyakumari is a very touristy place. Expect holiday crowds.
- You can arrive by bus/train too. We will arrange for pickup/drops accordingly.
